Christmas in Door County

Heartwarming, uplifting, and full of holiday cheer, this new musical, Christmas in Door County, features familiar festive songs and a story about finding the meaning of Christmas. After a winter vacation at the Borealis Bed & Breakfast on Washington Island, Wisconsin, the ferry breaks down and guests are unable to return to the mainland. Staying with the B&B staff, everyone comes together on Christmas Eve to make the best of the situation in hopes of some yuletide cheer.

Ali Bell as Virginia Lindstrom

Ali Bell is excited to be back at Broadway Rose where she was most recently seen in the ensemble of Waitress. Her previous roles include Sue in Snapshots: A Musical Scrapbook and Ethel McCormack in Footloose (Broadway Rose), and the Naturopath and Mrs. Cleveland in Groundhog Day at Lakewood Theatre Company. Ali holds a Master of Music in Opera Performance from the University of Texas and is a founding partner of Wildwood Law Group in Portland. She is deeply grateful to her husband, who makes it possible to do all the things, and to her amazing daughters, who make things worth doing.

Mike Dederian as Burgess Poston

Mike Dederian has performed with Broadway Rose in A Funny Thing … Forum (Senex), Guys and Dolls (Lt. Brannigan), Whodunit The Musical (Mr. Jarvis), My Fair Lady (Jamie), and as Dr. Watson in the radio drama Sherlock Holmes and the West End Horror; with Lakewood Theatre Co. in Groundhog Day (Sheriff Jack), A Christmas Story: The Musical (Jean Shepherd), A Few Good Men (Capt. Whittaker), South Pacific (Emile), and Singin’ in the Rain (R.F. Simpson); with Clackamas Repertory Theatre in My Fair Lady (Pickering); with Mock’s Crest in H.M.S. Pinafore (Dick Deadeye); and with Portland Actors Ensemble in The Tempest (Prospero) and Henry IV (Douglas). Other favorite roles include Tateh in Ragtime, The Actor in Enter the Guardsman, and Arthur in Camelot, the latter two opposite his talented wife, Margo.

Jomar Ferreras as Charles Bautista

Jomar Ferreras is delighted to join his first mainstage production with Broadway Rose, having performed in the Broadway to Bourbon St. Cabaret earlier this year. Hailing originally from Calgary by way of New York, Chicago, and Nashville, Jomar has performed with various companies including Disney Cruise Line, The Duplex NYC, Music Theater Works, and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Select credits include Tarzan (Tarzan), Sweeney Todd (Pirelli), and Miss Saigon (Thuy). He wouldn’t be here without his enchanted lover, Grace. Here’s to Theo (hopefully) not yelling “No singing, Dada!” at him on stage. “Merry Christmas to all!”

Photo of Anna Prosser.

Anna Prosser as Natasha Smirnov

Anna Prosser is a Portland-born performer whose onstage work has taken her all over the world. She has hosted the Pokémon World Championships for a decade, and this year also performed as a vocalist in its opening musical act. She has hosted other prominent events like BlizzCon and TwitchCon, and releases nerdcore music on Spotify and other platforms. She is known for her improv and storytelling in live Dungeons & Dragons shows such as Acquisitions Incorporated (Penny Arcade), and recently appeared in two Portland-made independent films, The Great Divide and Secret Life. Theater credits include Charlie’s Aunt, Weird Romance, Twelfth Night, and the upcoming Pippin. Anna is delighted to return to Portland theatre with Broadway Rose and dedicates this performance to her dad, Greg Prosser. @AnnaProsser

Photo of Joe Theissen.

Joe Theissen as Tripp Evans

Joe Theissen is thrilled to return to the Broadway Rose stage, where favorite past roles include Gomez Addams (The Addams Family), The Narrator (Fly By Night), and Moonface Martin (Anything Goes). Whether cast as a romantic lead or a lovable oddball, Joe enjoys vanishing into roles—his favorite post-show comment is: “Wait – that was you?” Regional credits include Lakewood Theatre Company, Oregon Children’s Theatre, and Pixie Dust Productions, with memorable turns as Zaza (La Cage aux Folles), Cogsworth (Beauty and the Beast), and Oscar (Sweet Charity). Offstage, he’s happy husband to Malia, devoted dad to Peyton, and proud papa to three cats and one perfect pup named Pip. (Yes, perfect.) He also consumes an alarming amount of historical fiction and has strong opinions about British television.

Photo of Blythe Woodland.

Blythe Woodland as Mary Kate McTeague

Blythe Woodland believes there is no better way to celebrate the holidays than with a Broadway Rose holiday show! Blythe has previously been seen at Broadway Rose in Anything Goes, Five Golden Rings, Happily Ever After (Gala), A Very Merry PDX-mas, and Hairspray (Drammy Award). Other credits include Judy Bernly in 9 to 5 The Musical, Suzy Simpson in The Marvelous Wonderettes, and The Dutchess in The Kiss at Lakewood Theatre Company. Other creative opportunities she has had this year, include teaching Adult Jazz at Broadway Rose and choreographing Emma! A Pop Musical JV at Twality Middle School. Blythe spends her “free” time coaching and serving on the board for South Beaverton Cheer and hanging out with her family and their golden retriever Tilly. Much love to Paul, Colton, Brynlee, and Cadence.
