Fall 2025 Newsletter
Articles written by Blythe Woodland
There truly isn’t a quiet moment at Broadway Rose, and we wouldn’t want it any other way! Our spaces hummed all summer long with multiple generations of theatre-lovers, both on and off the stage, as we presented two spectacular mainstage productions and our largest-yet educational program. Your enthusiastic responses to our shows remind us that we all need connection, inspiration, and escape now more than ever. Thank you for being a part of the experience.
Now we have turned our attention to fall, with Triangle, a new musical, while also promoting and preparing for our 2026 Season of Belonging. Next season marks our 35th anniversary and will be a time for transition as well as celebration; we hope you’ll join us for the journey.
I hope the stories in this newsletter remind you of the impact you make when you buy a ticket, make a gift, or volunteer for your local arts organization. You are the reason we thrive.
Thank you for your continued applause and support!

Behind the Scenes
HOW HISTORY, LOVE, AND GHOSTS INSPIRED A NEW MUSICAL
Thomas Mizer (left) and Curtis Moore (right), writers of the new musical Triangle
When Thomas Mizer and Curtis Moore first began imagining Triangle, they weren’t setting out to write a musical about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. What caught their attention was something stranger, more haunting, and ultimately more hopeful: the way history lingers in a single place, and how echoes of the past can shape lives in the present.

TODD TSCHIDA & CHELSIE KINNEY
Chelsie and Todd’s family on a beautiful fall day
For longtime theatre lovers Todd Tschida and Chelsie Kinney, the stage has always been more than a place to perform–it’s where community and lifelong bonds are made. The pair first crossed paths performing in Hello, Dolly! at Lakewood Theatre Company, and their shared love of the art form has only deepened since.

Volunteer Tribute
HEIDI HEYDLAUFF
Heidi Heydlauff–volunteer extraordinaire–has been involved with Broadway Rose for nearly 35 years
I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Heidi Heydlauff, a longtime Broadway Rose volunteer whose dedication and enthusiasm have touched nearly every corner of the theater. From her first encounter with the company in its very first season to hosting out-of-town performers in her home, Heidi’s journey with Broadway Rose is a story of passion, community, and the joy of giving back.

FROM THE WINGS TO THE STAGE
See a show from the perspective of a production team member, or even join the action on stage
At Broadway Rose, we get excited to give our donors a chance to see what it’s like to be part of a production—whether on stage or behind the scenes. At our annual fundraising Gala we offer two special experiences that allow guests to step beyond the audience and get a true insider’s perspective: Walk On Roles and In The Wings.
